Don’t wait – these are things you can do today to fight human trafficking:
- Contact Crime Stoppers to anonymously report human trafficking 1-888-222-8477
- Report illegal activities that may be connected with trafficking
- Get involved with local organizations that help people at risk of becoming trafficked
- Talk to the youth in your life about the risks of social networking sites
- Start or join a letter writing campaign on human trafficking (example, Mars Chocolate was successfully petitioned to create a slavery-free chocolate bar)
- Connect with other online groups working on human trafficking
- Join or start a local chapter of ACT Alberta. Email info@actalberta.org for more support in how to get started.
- Host a freedom party in your home… email info@actalberta.org for more information.
- Communicate with your elected officials about this issue. Tell them you are concerned about human trafficking in Canada. For your MPs contact information, click here. To reach your MLA, click here
- Educate yourself on where the products you buy come from. Buy fair trade when you can and keep trafficking out of the supply chain.
- Sign up for monthly newsletters from ACT Alberta and stay connected with this movement.
- Spread the word about human trafficking and ACT Alberta. Forward your newsletters or tell someone about this issue. Awareness is our best weapon!
