In partnership with National Vicitims of Crime Awareness Week, ACT Alberta is proud to announce a series of events raising awareness of and addressing human trafficking in Alberta in April. More details on these events can be found on our website.

The Alberta Criminal Justice Association in partnership with First Nations Policing has organized one-day conferences in Edmonton and Calgary on human trafficking on April 7 and 8. Alberta continues to show itself as a leader in the response to human trafficking.

We are pleased that the City of Edmonton is continuing to demonstrate its leadership by declaring April 13 as Human Trafficking Awareness Day, the first proclamation of its kind in Canada. Avenue Zero is a ground-breaking documentary drawing attention to human trafficking in Canada and shining a much needed light on this issue.

Join ACT Alberta for film screenings and discussion panels on April 1 and 8. Finally, ACT Red Deer is hosting a public information session on April 11 as a lead-in to a conference on human trafficking April 15-16.

Join ACT Alberta for what promises to be a productive month of engaging communities to respond to human trafficking.
