Elevate: Understanding Human Trafficking
Presented by The Virtual Effect

Our third Impact Event of 2019 is Elevate: Understanding Human Trafficking.

Human trafficking is a very real and prevalent issue in our city and within Canada. Elevate: Understanding Human Trafficking will be a night of education, discussion, and learning steps we can take to make a difference in the fight against human trafficking.

The evening will feature a powerful panel discussion moderated by Carrie Doll, followed by a Q&A. Elevate impact events are safe spaces to learn and connect, while making a difference.

Proceeds from the event are going to Action Coalition on Human Trafficking (ACT) Alberta, a non-profit organization that leads activities related to education, advocacy collaboration and victim assistance.

Panelists include:

  • Cpl. Kim Bradfield, Corporal at KARE Counter Exploitation Unit, RCMP
  • Amber Niemeier, Director of External Relations, YWCA Edmonton
  • Jessica Brandon, Manager of Training & Education, ACT Alberta

The event is open to all ages and genders. Anyone who wants to learn more about human trafficking and what they can do to help raise awareness is welcome. Please be aware the subject matter may be potentially upsetting.
