The Ride for Refuge is a family-friendly cycling and walking fundraiser that supports charities who provide refuge and hope for displaced, vulnerable and exploited people everywhere.

The Action Coalition on Human Trafficking (ACT Alberta assists victims of human trafficking in Alberta by:
– Coordinating services for victims of human trafficking
– Managing a Victims Assistance Fund that helps cover emergency costs like shelter, food, and medicine
– Training and educating service providers and the general public on human trafficking
– Researching and collecting data on human trafficking
– Helping develop policy provincially and nationally
– Building capacity for community-based responses

This year, participants in the RIDE will have the choice of wearing one of 34 flags that represent the various countries that we know victims have been trafficked from. As we progress through the RIDE, we will reflect on the small steps that a victim of human trafficking takes each day on his or her road to recovery.

Start a team, Donate to our team, and/or Ride with us on Sept. 29th and help victims of human trafficking in our province!
