Council of Europe Convention on Action Against Trafficking in Human Beings – The Convention is a comprehensive treaty mainly focused on the protection of victims of trafficking and the safeguard of their rights. It also aims at preventing trafficking as well as prosecuting traffickers.
Toolkit to Combat Trafficking in Persons: Global Program Against Trafficking in Human Beings – A toolkit created by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime in 2006 to combat human trafficking.
United Nations Convention Against Transnational Organized Crime and the Protocols Thereto – Adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 2000 and entered into force on 25 December 2003. As of August 2013, it has been ratified by 157 states.
U.S. State Department Trafficking in Persons Reports – The Trafficking in Persons (TIP) Report is the U.S. Government’s principal diplomatic tool to engage foreign governments on human trafficking. It is also the world’s most comprehensive resource of governmental anti-human trafficking efforts and reflects the U.S. Government’s commitment to global leadership on this key human rights and law enforcement issue.
World Health Organization Ethical and Safety Recommendations for Interviewing Trafficked Women – Interviewing a woman who has been trafficked raises a number of ethical questions and safety concerns for the woman, others close to her, and for the interviewer. Having a sound understanding of the risks, ethical considerations, and the practical realities related to trafficking can help minimize the dangers and increase the likelihood that a woman will disclose relevant and accurate information.
